I originally wrote my book "Becoming God" as scientific approach to debunk spirituality and religion through a close examination of quantum physics, neurobiology, and string theory.  For me, there was no mystery.  Everything, I thought, could be explained by the forces of nature and through sciences that we are just now beginning to unravel.  I couldn't have been more wrong.

As I began researching my book, it became clear to me that there was a much closer connection between science and spirituality than anyone could ever imagine.  The more I probed into this enigmatic subject, the more sure I became that science itself is not only showing us how it is intricately connected to spirituality, but is in fact, merely a metaphor inserted within our waking dream (that we call reality) as a reminder that all of our thoughts and emotions manifest themselves every second of our lives as the reality we see before our eyes.

Exploring these ideas is called Existentialism is a philosophical movement which claims that individual human beings create the meanings and essence of their own lives. It emerged as a movement in twentieth-century literature and philosophy, with some forerunners in earlier centuries. Existentialism stresses that people are entirely free and therefore responsible for what they make of themselves. With this responsibility comes a profound anguish or dread. It is a reaction against more traditional philosophies, such as rationalism and empiricism, which sought to discover an ultimate order in metaphysical principles or in the structure of the observed world, and therefore universal meaning. The movement had its origins in the thought of the 19th century philosophers Kierkegaard and Nietzsche and was prevalent in Continental philosophy. Writers like Dostoevsky also contributed to the movement.

This transformation from atheist to spiritual enlightenment has been the most significant experience of my life, affecting all of my thoughts about everything and changing the very essence of my being.  I have in the process become a conscious being who is truly self-aware.
